The IORA Secretariat announces to all Member States and Dialogue Partners that a new project will start in Mauritius “Creation of an IORA Centre of Excellence for Dispute Resolution”.
The Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry is going to host a Mediation Training and Symposium in February 2024 in Mauritius. The symposium, a full-day event, is set to unveil insights crucial to the establishment of the IORA Dispute Resolution Centre Project. Moreover, the symposium will feature diverse panel discussions, providing a comprehensive exploration of mediation and arbitration matters in the Indian Ocean Region. The Mediation Training will give the opportunity to enhance participant’s skills in the vital aspect of dispute resolution.
In view of the above, the esteemed Member States and Dialogue Partners are requested to kindly share with professionals in their respective countries the following events and relevant documents:
Mediation Training Course: 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10 February 2024
The 40-hour accredited Mediation Training Course will provide participants with theoretical lectures and hands-on workshops to gain a deeper understanding of mediation as a conflict resolution method. The training is tailored to suit all levels of professional, from senior executives, business leaders, HR and in-house counsel, to law practitioners.

Symposium: 8 February 2024
The full day symposium will feature panel discussions on various topics related to alternative dispute resolution, with a specific focus on mediation, online dispute resolution and arbitration.
