The Secretariat of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) presents has the honour to refer to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) and IORA concluded on 21 April 2025.

The Secretariat inform that CDRI in collaboration with the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) and the Department of Works and Highways, Government of Papua New Guinea, are organizing a Learning Webinar on “Strengthening Resilient Transport Infrastructure in Papua New Guinea” scheduled on 14 October 2026 from 3.00 – 4.00 pm PGT / 10.30 – 11.30 am IST.

This webinar is second in the CDRI’s Learning Webinar Series on “Infrastructure Resilience in Island States”. Aligned with key actions identified in the Call to Action: Resilient Infrastructure for SIDS and Coastal Regions, the primary objective of the webinar series is to share learnings from First Cohort (2024-26) projects of CDRI’s flagship Infrastructure for Resilient Island States (IRIS) programme, exchange knowledge, and promote partnerships towards enhancing resilience in the SIDS.

The first learning webinar in the series focusing on Multi-threat Early Warning System in the Dominican Republicwas held on 9 September 2026 and the link to the recording can be accessed at https://driconnect.cdri.world/all-events/iris-learning-webinar-1-dominican-republic.

The learning webinar 2 will spotlight the project ‘Strengthening Institutional and Technical Capacity for Climate Resilient Transport Infrastructure Development in Papua New Guinea’ and will focus on the comprehensive framework developed for integrating climate and disaster resilience into the planning, design, construction, operations, maintenance, and rehabilitation of road and bridge infrastructure in Papua New Guinea along with learnings for scaling up in the Pacific SIDS.
