The European Commission Representation in Italy is organising the presentation event for the book Per Mare – Storie di merci, destini di uomini, disuguaglianze globali (By Sea – Stories of Goods, Destinies of People, Global Inequalities) on Tuesday, 25th March at 11:00 AM at the interactive space Esperienza Europa – David Sassoli in Piazza Venezia, Rome.

After the institutional greetings from the European Parliament Office in Italy, Massimo Pronio, Head of Communications at the European Commission Representation in Italy, will moderate the meeting with the book’s editors, Andrea Pappalardo and Andrea Carnì, and co-author Federica Rossi.

The central role of maritime transport in our era will be analysed, highlighting the connection between global trade, economic inequalities, and human destinies. The meeting will offer a fascinating perspective on the importance of the sea in contemporary economic and social dynamics. Through the book Per Mare – Storie di merci, destini di uomini, disuguaglianze globali, the audience will be taken on a journey through the main maritime routes, the lives of those who travel them, and their impact on the global economies.
