The United States Department of Commerce’s Discover Global Markets: The Blue Economy is a dynamic 3-day business forum focused on bringing together global leaders across the marine renewables, port technology & services, ocean science & technology, and commercial marine sectors (among others). Engage in matchmaking and networking sessions as well as build new business partnerships with U.S.-based executives.

The venue chosen is Rhode Island which is centrally located between New York and Boston, part of the densely populated and economically impactful Northeast Corridor of the United States, and is easily accessed by air, rail, and car. It is home to two deep water ports and a wide range of maritime industries. We believe it is of interest to the port system authorities as it will be an opportunity to meet American companies active in the following sectors:

  1. Renewable energies for the maritime sector: offshore wind, kinetic energy transformation systems (waves/tides), transversal solutions of clean sustainable technology;
  2. Port technology and services: physical security and cybersecurity, underwater digital imaging, green technology for ports, port digitization;
  3. Ocean science and technology: ocean observation, marine robotics, coastal survey and conservation;
  4. Commercial Marine: alternative fuels, IoT on ships, offshore logistics.
